Does anyone have any experience of this school? We’re thinking of our DS joining either into year 4 or year 7. He’s averagely intelligent with a few mild learning issues, and slightly struggles socially, though is fine once he knows people. I’ve heard good things about it as regards pastoral care etc - was just looking for any personal perspectives??

Visit the school with your child in tow. Trust your gut feeling about the school. I also recommend having a list of questions to ask the teachers and headmistress too. Check out the website as well. I also suggest you read the school report by OFSTED in addition. I usually divide my questions using different categories for convenience.

Find out as much information as you can possibly. Also do talk with the students and other parents. Another good source of information are the curriculum booklets available on the website.

Listen to the gossip.

I have a child who has been to this school for 4 years and can honestly say it is one of the best decisions we ever made. My child struggled a bit socially and academically in his state school but has been exceptionally happy after moving to Sibford.
I find the atmosphere at the school warm, friendly and down to earth. It is a unique and wonderful place.
The support for children with SENs is incredible. its a highly nurturing school and the teachers are passionate. Have met lots of other very happy parents and children. I highly recommend to visit the school, think youll be made to feel very welcome. My child is at senior school but the Junior school just seems absolutely lovely as well.

I unfortunately had a bad experience there ranging from getting expelled to seeing a fellow pupil hanging from a tree by his school tie and saw him hanging there unfortunately it was suicide so I have nothing good to say about that wretched school looks like things have vastly improved for the better though.i couldnt cope with being at private school and sent me off the rails so please make sure your children want to go and really really want to.

The page muddy stilettos filters out negative comments regarding Sibford school. I am not aware if that happens for everything on the page but it's not reliable as it does not allow negative comments and creates a false representation of Sibford School in particular.
