Christian all girls boarding

Would prefer RC to CoE but don't mind as long as faith is an important part of their values and ethos

Both quite academic girls (as far we can tell at this age) but one quite sporty while the other is more interested in arts so a wide range of extra-curricular activities is important.

Being able to ride and take their own ponies would be lovely but obviously not essential.

Any recommendations?

Mayfield School in Sussex

I'll have a look at them, thank you.
Have either of you had daughters at these schools?

I went to Mayfield myself, many moons ago. It's a lovely school.

I know some girls at St Mary's Ascot. They all seem lovely and happy and have done well academically. Completely anecdotal I know!!

I also know a teacher there who loves it and says it's a wonderful school.

Woldingham? Mostly weekly boarding, though. StMA is fab, but not sure it takes ponies!

If you were to consider Scotland (though probably not if you live down south and St Mary's Ascot is closer) there is Kilgraston Girls School in Perth. Definitely have facilities for riding either their horses or you can take your own. Art department is very good too.

Kilgraston- catholic and livery

PjsAndCake · 05/09/2018 18:24

That's wonderful, thank you.
Lovely to hear recommendations from ex pupils as well.

Scotland is definitely an option so I'll have a look into Kilgraston too.

Sherborne Girls?

Sorry pressed post too early. C of E ethos with close links to the Abbey. The Old Girls magazine seems to feature riding success although I’m not sure where they keep the horses. It is down in Dorset though.
