Careers Advice for 19yo - where?

TeenTimesTwo · 22/08/2018 20:10

Where can my 19yo go for sensible careers advice?

She has a bunch of GCSEs, a L3 Diploma in Travel &Tourism, and may or may not complete a L3 Early Years Educator by Christmas dependent on when a physical issue gets resolved. Also a SpLD.

But it is looking as if Plan A - work in a nursery - may be out.

We don't mind paying for someone who knows what they are talking about.

Hi,
Not sure where you are but our local council, Yorkshire region, still has the Connexion service running, as does a few in Lancashire. Cornwall CC, says on google, schools up to 16, then the National Career Service for 16 to 19. I think it's run by Government.
Online there are also Career Connect, which is a charity and Careerpilot. Never dealt with either. Used to be independent (private) advisors in the phonebook.

I personally used connexion service in the past as an adult and they where good and free.
Sorry probably not much help.
Could you ring local council or CAB.
Good luck to your DD, she sounds like she deserves it.
