PUTNEY PARK School

wombat1 · 04/06/2007 19:35

I have a friend from abroad coming to look at Putney Park school for her young daughters.

Does anyone have any experience of it or could tell me any good/bad points they know about it.

Many thanks

a friend's ds is there - i know they are very happy with it so far, but he only started last year

my nephew went there for a little while - he liked it and it seemd very good. Think he was only there a year and transferred to Tower House in Sheen (which was truly fab) becuasse it was closer to them. (he's 14 now so a few years ago)

Thought Putney Park was boys only?

think tis prep only for boys, sue, and up to 16 for gels

ah that would be it then Tutter - how's Wargrave/pregnancy?

great and ok, thanks

great, because it's a lovely area and i feel settled already

ok, because despite loving being pg, i am huge and so is baby. am being scanned repeatedly as there is some concern over head size

hope all going well back in kew and that you and ds are well and truly settled together

I think it has a bit of a "cosy" mentality - not sure it is seen as particularly academic (possibly suffers from not being Putney High, IYSWIM). However my babysitter and her sisters went there and all went on to very good schools indeed at 11 (and are the nicest young people imaginable) so I would recommend it on those grounds alone.

Has quite a low key image I think - I live v close by and don't know anyone who goes there and never see it advertised or similar (and I have been looking as my DCs are 5 and 3) but it may just be off my radar.
