Richmond primary schools advice

Hello,
I am moving to Richmond (or nearby) in September. I will be renting so can more or less choose my area. It doesn’t HAVE to be Richmond but I know it’s a nice place to live with good schools. It does have to be near Richmond though .
Can anyone recommend great primary schools I should aim to be near please?
Which primary schools have a great reputation/name?
I’m planning on choosing an area/house based on getting a lovely school for my children but maybe that is naive. Are all schools terribly over subscribed?
Any help or advice or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated.
Many, many thanks,
Natalie

The Vineyard in Richmond and Orleans Infants in St Margaret’s are both excellent. You would need to aim to rent somewhere extremely close, i.e. on the same road more or less, to be guaranteed a place though! Some parents rent flats next to the Vineyard to get there eldest child in then move elsewhere in the borough once they are in. The catchment area is extremely small and a lot of places go to siblings first.

Thank you. Appreciate this.
Was chatting to Richmond school admissions office today and they said Vineyard is completely full no matter where you live.
Do you know anything about Darrell School? It has places and near some nice houses.
Thanks x

How old are your children?

My DD has just left Darell and we have found it a mainly lovely, kind and nurturing environment. She did very well and was well-supported to be the best she could be.

I do not think there are any bad primary schools in Richmond so you shouldn't worry too much.
