I have a 4 year old who likes to go to school. But in the past few days when dropping/picking him up, we have noticed that his teachers dont greet us or him. Even if I repeat myself and say “Goodmorning” a little louder with a smile, they just look at me and don’t say anything back. Am I being weird here or is this okay? I can understand that teachers are only human too and probably have a lot to deal with, but this has been going over some days now so I’m finding it odd. I think it’s bad that even my child isn’t acknowledged or even greeted. I am struggling on how to approach this or what to say to her to make aware. Or am I being too much and too paranoid? Please all help and input are appreciated 😊

That's weird.

Ds is in nursery 1 so essentially 2 yo's. Every one is greeted at the gate by name "hello Steve, lovely hat, hello Amy, nice dress, hi Peter, great smile"
Every one is then greeted at the door by nursery teacher 2 "hi Steve, hi Amy, come on in, hi Peter"
The other staff then encourage them to get coats off etc so speak to them

On way out nursery teacher says bye, teacher on gate says bye.

That’s exactly what I’m thinking, they used to greet but now they have stopped. They greet other parents and kids just not us. I feel sad that my child is left out, and not acknowledged as he goes in with such a smile. I really don’t know how to approach the teacher or how to ask her. But it is bothering me. 😔

Ooh super awkward if it's just you.

Can you get dc to say hi and ask them a question directly? Hi miss, how are you? level. Then if they ignore you it might be easier to tackle that one instance and say it happens frequently and upsets child?

So you think if I’m ignored I should ask the teacher straight away or mention it to the school? I was thinking of saying hi when I go pick him up, and if no reply then say “Is everything okar Mrs. xxxx you don’t seem to hear us when we greet you” or is that harsh or silly? Sorry I’m just a little lost and frustrated here.

Can you have a word on the way out once you've left dc?
How long will dc have left with her?

Yes that’s what I’m thinking to have a word with her on the way out. So let’s see... 😐

I will be picking him up at 3 so will deff let you know. 🙂 just don’t want to complain to the head teacher over this. Can’t understand why it’s so hard to be civil lol

Okay so I went to his school to pick him up and was greeted with a smile 😲 They said goodbye to my boy and smiled at me. So I couldn’t ask lol
