Alternative schools in North London?

Hi, are there any alternative school options between state and fully fledged private schools in North London? My son will start year 5 in September and I am trying to find a progressive/liberal school with little or no testing that looks after the emotional well being of the child without compromising academic learning. Does such school exist? Hmm
Thanks!

How about the Dania school in Clerkenwell? Bilingual Danish/English (although it seems that the only lessons in Danish are music and Danish), following a Scandinavian style curriculum. It is private, but for a private school, fees are ultra-reasonable: £3000 per term.

Regarding the Dwight School, just to say that I have heard from ex parents that the school is fun but poor education. I was told by one very disappointed parent that there is very little quality control with regard teaching. My advice would be avoid if you're looking for a solid education base. It's a very expensive school.....
