Dragon school or St. John's school??? Please help!

Hello mums! Just signed up on the net. I am a mom of 2 children - aged 8 and 6. We will be moving to England during summer 2018 and here lies the question. We have places in the Dragon school in Oxford and in St. John's school in Cambridge. With no preference in any of the 2 cities, (we will do the move based on the school we choose), which one shall we choose? We have visited both of them obviously and we equally like them. Please, any comments and any experiences shared are most welcome!

I suggested starting this thread, as people on the other thread were not talking about these two schools at all.
OP I hope some people with experience of these two schools come along soon.

I can't imagine there would be many families with experience of both schools. I guess it is possible that a family of a high-flying academic who has had to move between these two cities for work might possibly have moved dc from one school to the other but that must be a quite rare occurrence.

@Yimmini - the OP isn't asking for people with experience of both schools! Just for anyone with experience of either school, to help her make an informed decision.

I'd always look ahead to the school after this one, though that might not be relevant if you'll be out of the UK before then? What are your priorities in secondary education? In Oxford the classic moves would I suppose be to Magdalen College School or Abingdon and Oxford High or Headington - are you OK with single sex secondaries? If you want coeducational, do you like D'Overbroecks (sp?) or would you be looking further afield? What are the Cambridge options at secondary?

I have a couple of friends whose DS’s went to The Dragon and they all loved the School and were very happy there.

I am not sure you choose. Often it's more likely than not a child won't get into your chosen school so they sit for quite a few just in case even if they are very clever.
