Wetherby School vs. Chepstow House School

We need to decide between Wetherby School and Chepstow House School for our son. Any views on the schools and the head teachers?

Can you please share your experience with co-ed vs. all-boys, and if an all-boys school is still appropriate for this day and age ?

Wetherby by a country mile. Superb school. If you've been offered a place grab it with both hands...!

Opposite view here! Chepstow House is superb. Head is amazing and lots of experienced teachers.

Definitely Chepstow. Lots of space in school (unlike Wetherby), strong ethos and academics. The head and teachers are great. Children are happy and love learning. Latest ofsted report and exit results speak volumes.

Lebskii, which school did you decide on?

Chepstow- lots of space, great teachers, International community. Read Ofstead report from this year.

@LondonExpatLife i know this thread is quite old, but were you happy with your choice? We are going through a similar decision now: thanks!

My son was very happy at Chepstow House. He remembers Chepstow fondly. As a family, we enjoyed being part of great international community. Many parents were involved in school events. My son had a great class / year group which does make a difference. Some of the boys went on to Wetherby. Both schools are owned by Alpha Plus. Some boys went to City, Westminster, Eaton, American School in London.
The school has a large campus / play area for Central London. You should try to talk to current parents. As with any school, the dynamics of a year group can vary. It’s been 3 years since my son has been a student at Chepstow. I know some teachers have left. New ones have come. Head of School the same. Deputy Head left last year.
The Parent Organisation was fabulous when my son went to Chepstow.
Wetherby is a different school environment than Chepstow beyond being all boys vs coed. The schools have a different feel. You need to consider what is the right type of learning environment for your son. Ask current parents about bullying and if it is addressed. All boys schools tend to have this issue
