Hello ! could someone shed light on the sports program at ASL ? we are considering sending our very active and sports loving children to ASL and we've assumed sports would be a focus at the school but have discovered that competitive sports only starts at high school level. please share your knowledge and opinions, would be grateful!

Many sporty London kids will take part in Club sport rather than rely on school. This is often particularly true of American children with half an eye on US college applications and wanting access to County level competition and training structures.

Unlike British schools, ASL does not have students compete in sports against other schools until they are 7th graders / Year 8. 7th and 8th graders do have competitions / games against other local schools or international schools. This is also the case in high school. However, in high school, students often decide to either play through an ASL team or continue playing outside ASL (club sports). Given the rigor and time demands of high school academics, it is uncommon to have a student participate in their sport both at ASL and through a club. Commitment to practice and training in high school is more than in middle school.
