Hi,
I live in Whitstable with one girl aged 5 at a local primary and a boy aged 2. I'm slightly torturing myself about schools and hoping for some advice from locals or those who know the area. I am unsure about the school we sent my daughter to - she's extremely bright and I don't get the impression she is being stretched or having work sufficiently tailored to her abilities - I do find it difficult to gauge this, however, so perhaps I'm underestimating the school. I also have struggled with the 'social mix' of the school and am concerned about the impact this may have on her willingness to challenge herself as time goes on. I'm also concerned as it's a big school that it may not suit my son, who is introverted - the local infant schools may suit him better but I was less impressed with the primaries.
I'm prepared to move for a better primary experience and we both work from home so commute is not an issue. I like the look of Ethelbert Road in Faversham - I understand it's hard to get in to, but figure it may be an option if we look for houses in the area before my boy goes to school. I know there's the girls grammar in Faversham and we have more chance of getting in there if we're in Faversham but what about for boys, would it be harder or easier to get in to the Canterbury boys grammars from Fav?
Would it be crazy to move from Whit to Fav for schools? Am I writing off the Whit schools too soon? Anyone got any advice?
Thanks!
