Abingdon/St Hughs/Moulsford for average boy?

DS is in year 1 and we are considering the above schools for year 3. His Pre-Prep have done standardised testing on him and he's about average for English and above average for Maths. His NVR was above average and his VR was average. Would Abingdon be too academic for him? Too early to tell?

don't know, but we loved AB prep. I'm sure they'd progress an 'average' boy. Do you like Ab senior School?

Thank you! Can I ask how long ago your DS attended? I know the head is very new. I don't want DS to be at the bottom and I can't quite get a handle on where he would sit in a school like Abingdon.

Ds was under the previous head. Ds turned out to be pretty bright, so was at the top end academically, but there were lots of middle boys successfully moving on to the Senior school.

I believe it's more of an 'all-through' school now though so it may have changed. Sorry I can't help more!

Out of those 3 school, Ab Prep felt more relaxed and less showy than the other two. That's how we felt anyway.
