ScarletBrennan, have you heard from Eton yet? Our neighbour's son is waiting for results as well.

Hi OP - we received an email saying we would hear by 11th May

njshore · 22/03/2018 22:27

Mumofthree, when did you interview? My neighbour rec'd results today.

Mumofthree1976 · 23/03/2018 08:04

Hi njshore - we interviewed earlier this month. We are in the day school system and had totally forgotten about having registered DS at birth so when our prep school head asked us to sit the pretest we just went along with it for the experience. DH went there years ago and despite all of us liking it when we looked around, not entirely sure we are that keen on boarding so will see how we get on. Didn’t really prep DS for either assessments so not sure he’ll get in anyway.

A friend is still waiting for hers too

". . . had totally forgotten about having registered DS at birth so when our prep school head asked us to sit the pretest . . ."

If you had totally forgotten about having registered DS at birth, how then did Eton know which prep school your DS now attends in order for them to instruct the prep head to remind you to take your son for the test?

Mumofthree1976 · 24/03/2018 08:18

Peteneras - if you really must know the logistics - my ex (father of DS) got sent all the details over the years and being totally settled in the day school system we only discussed it all together during our pre 11+ options meeting in september.

marvelousmartha · 24/03/2018 14:16

Best of luck to your DS @Mumofthree1976.I can't help with the dates as this year it has changed and Eton require the boys to sit the ISEB test before they go to Eton for testing. Have you applied of any other boarding schools as a fall back ?

Mumofthree1976 · 26/03/2018 08:32

@marvelousmartha - thank you for your message. The decision between boarding and non boarding has been a tricky one for us - ex DH boarded from the age of 7 so he is more comfortable with the concept. DS is very close to his two siblings so whilst he is pretty robust and will cope being away from home, I think he will miss his siblings a lot. So if Eton does come through, it’ll be a tough decision but DS also sat various secondary school exams in London and did really well to get an amazing day school. I just feel sorry for all the pressure that 10-11 year olds have to go through.

Hi I just happened to see a message you put on before . Can I ask a question about Eton list test ? Averagely how many question children manage complet in the Eton list ?

many thanks

Roses81 · 07/03/2023 05:45

I don’t think there is a set number of questions. It is adaptive , so every candidate sees different questions.

Flyingsnow · 07/03/2023 10:53

Oh thank you very much for the reply !just My son said there are different topics , each topics have about 20-30 questions etc , so I just wonder how many topic boys complete in average ? By the way has anyone heard the offer yet ? It suppose out from yesterday

Roses81 · 14/03/2023 11:28

Flyingsnow - have you heard back ?
