Hey mums.. were relocating to shrewsbury and looking into shrewsbury high prep, prestfelde and st winesfield (although I read that the ISi report not so encouraging. Any insights? We loved Prestfelde premises and not sure if it was too polished when we visited.. any insights on all three schools?

Have you looked at Packwood Haugh? It's a little way out of Shrewsbury but worth considering. I'm not keen on S Winifred's, although I haven't seen it for some years. It was always a bit old-fashioned

Friends of ours have been very happy with Prestfelde and st Winifred's (and I really like their uniform 😳)

I don't know anyone who has been to the High School prep though, so I can't comment. If you're looking for a DD, then maybe the continuity will be good, rather than swapping after prep? Prob not that much of an issue realistically.

Thank you! We’re checking St Winifred’s tomorrow.. it hits home more as we’re Roman Catholics (from Europe)! I loved Prestfelde but the fees for 2 kids will be way above what we’re used to pay in USA.. (it’s actually crazy)!!!

We are moving our kids to SHS. Friends have children there who are very happy. It sends children to a senior school we are interested in, it runs a bus from where we live, the head seems capable and the fees are not crazy :-).
I have heard Prestfelde is also good but they don't run buses from where we are.
We aren't RC and we don't know anyone at St Winnifreds.
I suspect Packwood Haugh is more expensive and gers up for boarding which we are not interested in.
