We have been recommended to have this school as our backup for the 11+. It doesn't seem very selective and the results in the senior school aren't really great for a selective school. Any thoughts?

They select from just above national average and they cream off the top rather than deliberately taking a mix. My DC are at a similar school which gets far better results. That said, I think it's a very decent backup option. I'd certainly use it as one.

@NapYearStudent
Absolutely nowhere near at all I'm afraid OP. If you've got any questions feel free to PM me though.

Our daughter has been invited to attend the 3+ assessment at Grimsdell/ Pre-prep for Mill Hill School and our nephew has been invited to the 4+ assessment at Grimsdell/ Pre-prep for Mill Hill School. Not sure what to expect. Are the school really assessing the child, aged 2 or 3 years? What are they looking for? Alternatively, are they more interested in what the child’s parents have to say? Welcome any advice x

@TabbyD for both assessments they are looking to see the DC's social skills, can they share and take turns. At 4+ they may also be looking at pencil grip, can they draw. A well known girls school used to ask the girls to draw a house with a chimney at their 4+ assessment. Obviously the girls had to know what a house and a chimney were as well as have basic drawing skills.
One of my DC is a legend in our house for famously 'failing' their 4+ at a well known school. We went out to celebrate when we were told what said DC did.
