Possibly moving to Dalmeny

Hi, my husband and I are thinking of moving to the Dalmeny area, we currently live in Edinburgh. Our baby is 6 months old, so I am wondering if anyone can advise of what the nursery’s are like there? And the primary school? And whether they like loving out there in general, thank you!

Hi! I'm in South Queensferry! Dalmeny is lovely and is now almost joined on to SQ due to the new housing. There is a private nursery called Nippers and i know Dalmeny Primary has a good reputation and is a very small school. Queensferry High is the high school and its pretty good. DM with any questions!

Thank you! Have had a look at Nippers-do you know if it has a good reputation?
Do you mind me asking if you commute in to Edinburgh for work? We both will be, trains seem good but thinking they will be really busy!

Hi, yes, my son went to Nippers for a few months before school nursery and enjoyed it. They have a fantastic garden.
I commuted into town for years and either drove or got the bus or train. We now have a Lothian bus service so can get a day ticket that can be used throughout Edinburgh. Peak service trains pretty busy and expensive.

No problem! I really like it here as it both feels like we are almost in the city but have the beach and rural stuff too. Also, Fife Smile
