Any distance learners about? I need inspiration

Am a bit overwhelmed by the massive number of online study options. Can anyone offer words of wisdom?

I last studied formally 8 years ago just before having children. I have two, 7 and 5, and currently work part time and do some volunteering. I have some spare time, and a bit of spare money, and want to fit some studying in around my life.

Has anyone done any Massive Open Online Courses? Or distance learning with a university? Or managed to put together some sort of coherent learning pathway using various resources?

There's so much out there but I don't know where to start! Many thanks Smile

I've done a few MOOCs with FutureLearn, edX and Coursera - after a MNetter mentioned MOOCs on here. I have not yet done a programme or degree. I did single courses (languages and courses related to ageing) and have recently completed a verified A1introductory language course.
I enjoyed the experience, made contact with people from all over the world, will do more and have decided to attempt an additional qualification I can use in my field of work in January.
DD thinks about studying psychology and will attempt the introductory prgramme offered by FL.

PGCert with University of Liverpool in Veterinary Business Management. You need to be very disciplined I completed 6 modules over 2 and a bit years ( I took one semester out). You have to be very organised and disciplined. Over the time of the course I logged 630 study hours ( I have to keep a record for my professional organisation).
I worked really hard and graduated with distinction.

Have a root around Open University and some of their OpenLearn or short course to begin with Smile
