Ok, was era wigging on someones convo in the playground the other day, and this mum was telling another mum that her dd has not got into any of the secondary schools she put down, and has been offered one miles away.

The schools she had put down are the schools that I will be putting down for Dd1 who is in yr 4 now. She mentioned where she lived and so i have just worked out the distance between her house and the schools, and then my house and the schools, and mine is slightly further, so basically Dd could also not get it.

Oh and there is also rumours that the school i want dd to go to is reducing their catchment area again.

IOn the one hand, I am thinking that in 2 years it could have changed, but on the other hand i am worried, as it is really important to me that they go to good secondary schools.

Meant to say, that the 2 schools are opposite each other so both are my nearest and hers.

it could have changed and the numbers applying in different years will make some difference

apart from moving I'm not sure there is much you can do to change things

Oh no i realise there is not alot I can do, am just really dissapointed now and a bit worried where dd1 may end up.

I am considering moving but as I am in a HA property it's not really in my hands.

I think the best thing you can do is continue to put as much energy as I am sure you are doing into supportinbg her and making sure she enjoys school now which will stand her in good stead when she does go to secondary school

I think there are always local and national changes in allocating school places so try not to worry
