11+ Prep- Vocab

Any suggestions of good vocabulary to start using to prepare DD for 11+?

I'm starting to consciously use new words with her to introduce more sophisticated vocab but I'm also mindful I don't want her to sound precocious that's a good word!

We're doing things like "give me ten other words that mean happy" on the walk home from school but are there any words you think I should make sure she has in her bank!?

crisscrosscranky how old is your DD.

I'm inclined to say that the best approach to building vocab is to read across a wide range of literature, which places words into context and ensures sufficient repition to aid memory.
