Polling Day 3rd May - Anyone got the day off school?

Just wondering if we will have the Natural History Museum all to ourselves

I have been informed my son's school may be closed on the 3rd May but they have yet to confirm it.

I only found out today, competely missed the note from school

The working parents at our school are really hacked off with another school closure (we had one due to the snow). Personally I like days off but that's because I'm at home all day.

Anyway, just out of interest, DH and I were discussing why it is that councils have to use schools as polling stations. Is it because it has to be a state-owned building or something? Anyone know?

Our school only closes the nursery class now and the other area uses the CDC so neither school has to shut

Any London/Surrey/Berkshire schools shut?

Our school is shut as well, I think London has different local election dates to thee rest of the country, so we were planning on having the science museum to ourselves

Closed here too. Then back to school for one day, and then a 3-day bank holiday weekend. Then another Friday off for teacher training a week later. Now why couldn't they have arranged that for Friday the 4th May so we all got 5 days off which is enough for a short trip away?

We're in Surrey and our school is shut and INSET day on the Friday - Legoland here we come !!
