Year 4 Roman Homework Project

My 8 year old son is doing about the Romans at school and has come home with a project this half term, one of the things it is asking him to do is create a mosaic to show a key part of the Roman battle. Of course i know what a mosaic is but what was a key part of the Roman battle?? Help greatly received!! TIA. One very stressed out parent.

Part 3 tells you how a Roman Army would fight. I would interpret key part as meaning the different sections of the army.
