I'm sitting here with my youngest ready for the first day of term. (Eldest has INSET so he's still sleeping. Will be taking him out to lunch later!)
I doubt any of you will teach my two. The world isn't quite that small! But I wanted to say thanks.
To the staff who kept an eye on my kids after a bereavement last academic year.
To every member of staff who has given praise or a quick thumbs up. It means the world to my kids.
For the detailed reports.
For the clear targets to help them improve.
For the patience.
For reminding them to wear their glasses or take home the cardigan again!
For the inspiration and encouragement.
For caring.
For helping them to be the best they can be.
For arranging fun stuff and trips in the midst of sodding OFSTED!
For smiling in September. And July. And every day in between.
I hope you've had a lovely holiday, actually spent time with your own families, seen friends and not thought about school. Hope this year is a good one wherever you teach.
Thanks again. Flowers
Or if you do teach mine. BrewWineGin (depending on the day!) Grin

You are very welcome and I wish I had x100 parents like you!

Hope your children have a fabulous first day back xx

What a lovely post. It actually made me cry a little bit (or maybe they are tears of desperation as the start of the term hits). Thank you so much. The teachers of your children are lucky.

Love from a teacher x

Older they're really not. Youngest gets out of car. You need your bag DD. Gets bag. Stands there. Maybe you should shut the car door. Hmm
I'm trying to train them. Truly!
DD gone in really happy. Teachers on the gate. In the rain. Smiling and welcoming the kids in. Amazing people.

Yes I totally agree, OP.
Sometimes I see the post about horrible teachers on MN, but luckily I haven't encountered them in real life. Each and every teacher was/is great in different way. I really respect them for their patience and dedication. Thank you teachers.

They're getting there! Had lunch out and shopping with the teen today. He's turning into a lovely young man.

❤️ This brought tears to my eyes! Doing these things for children, and lovely parents like you, are why we do the job. 😊

Ah, you're welcome. I've been teaching 20 years and I still enjoy it.
