Cruel mummy for sending her in, or not?

Term finished for dd on Wednesday with a non uniform day. School is on strike on Tuesday.

They have offered to provide supervisory childcare for parents who will find this difficult, I have signed dd up even though I could either take her to my mums, take the day off work or dd's best friend's mum has offered to have her.

My reasons are

  1. Ds is in nursery anyway that day (they are not on stike) so I will still have to do the school run
  1. Tuesday is always a busy day at work
  1. Dd's other friend's mum can't take the day off but she was worried that her dd will be one of the only children, she is quite relieved that they will both be in together.

So am I right to send her in?

Typing error, term FINISHES on Wednesday, not finished.

If it was my DD she'd probably love going to the holiday-type school club!

I ought to ask whether to send her in uniform or not.

You do whatever is necessary to make your day run smoothly and if that means she goes to school - she goes to school. Like you say, you've got to do the school run anyway, so why not. She'll be with at least one of her school friends, so don't worry about it. I would send her if I needed to.

If it was my DS and one of his friends would be there I would do the same. Its supposed to be a school day anyway.

Realistic. Not cruel.

Cruel is sending your boys to the Headteacher's house after school cos you've got a meeting, lol.

nikkie · 25/03/2007 21:55

why would you not?

julienetmum · 25/03/2007 21:57

Lots of other mums seem to be treating this an an unexpected extra holiday.

I reckon dd will love it, she liked care club so it will be just like a day long care club I reckon.

Why are the school on strike?

wpcanniecartwright · 25/03/2007 21:59

perhaps the other mum's wnat to take a day off work, or don't work... i think it entirely reasonable... tuesdays ae generlaly busy at work,

julienetmum · 25/03/2007 22:02

Over a sacked teacher in another part of the school.

Particualrly as I don't work Mondays cannie (and can't swop days due to ds not being booked in nursery on Mondays.

i'll bet dd will enjoy novelty

julienetmum · 26/03/2007 21:49

Well talk about the best laid plans. It looks like ds has conjunctivitus so will not be going to nursery. Bit pointless taking dd in to school now I reckon.
