My son now 12 is a dyslexic even though as his mother I think I have tried as much as I can he doesn't want to even put an effort in to learning....I know it is hard for him but I would like it if he at least tried.... he is a very smart boy but he just hates school and anything that has to do with learning reading and writing.... I'm so frustrated , and sad, I hate the thought of him going to junior high and feeling that he is the one in class that can't keep up....junior high is much harder than elementary school and the teachers do not give more attention to students that need it they just ignore those students

Junior High - I take it you are not in the UK?

Not at all, it's open to all. I have no knowledge of the Greek education system, I'm sure someone else does. Good luck to you both.

It sounds as if the issue is not the level of schooling but the level of support. Dyslexia can be incredibly frustrating if your DS is not well-supported. Can you speak to the school and ask what support measures they put in place?

You need to maintain a positive and encouraging attitude - he'll feed off your negativity too.
