Hello!
My son is moving primary schools at the end of the year. We were offered the place at the new school last week and have accepted. Now I need to write to his current school to formally let them know that we are withdrawing DS. What do I write? I'm a bit rubbish at this!
TIA.

I don't not write anything, I explained that they were moving schools and the headteacher of their current school arranged a meeting for both parent, new school head and current school head to discuss your child's progress and pass on information. Possibly just our area? If you do need to write a letter just explain that as of date your child will be attending new school, you don't need to give a reason but you can add in why. If you haven't discussed with the current head teacher they may ask for a reason or meeting as they worry it's due to problems you have with their school and like to know if it's something they can improve on. Going through the Xmas thing with a lot of extra problems at the moment. Hope this helps!

Make sure you have his grades - helps settling in for new school as old school can Ben slow to arrange records

Write

Dear HT,

I am withdrawing X from your care as of X date. He will be attending Y school from September 2018.

Yours sincerely

BLAH

Can you move him now so he gets to meet friends and get used to the new routines
