Hi all, just wondered if anyone has any experience with the EIS, my child has been ill with stomach bugs and tonsilitis this last school year, catching bugs after bugs..And as well has had numerous hospital appointments, she is over the 20 days abscence..hence referal to the EIS..Im so anxious and not sure what to expect..Any advice please ..

Don't panic. Try to go through your diary/calendar and work out why she was absent on each occasion, if you have any paperwork for hospital visits or the doctors then so much the better. And talk to them for advice on how to make sure your DD's education is not affected.

They are usually called in on a sheer percentage basis, so after 10% you need a doctors appointment for each absense, after 20% they make a visit. Now if it could be anxiety related you might want to discuss it with your doctor first, if possible.
