Does anyone send their children to either of these schools? Can you offer any insights? Thanks.

I don't have children there but im familiar with them. The Mall is stopping at age 11 and J&J has a new prep school up to age 11 so they work well if you want your children in single sex Prep schools v Newland & Twickenham Prep.

Thanks. Do they have a good reputation? We are new to the area so not well up on schools yet.

Yes very good, J&J use to stop at 7 & feed to LEH Juniors, they still do this but you can also stay. You need to visit as J&J is very different to Newland House in terms of size etc. For a ds you need to bear in mind leaving at 11 and leaving at 13. If your ds is young this is very hard to get your head around! Compare The Mall to Hampton Prep too.

Hi - both my son's went to Jack and Jill and are now at or soon to join the Mall. They are both excelling and are really happy boys. Happy to answer any questions? They're both great schools. Very nurturing / small class sizes :)

if you have bright dcs the trend seems to be The Mall for boys and J&J followed by LEH for girls.

It used to be a given that girls from J&J would get into LEH prep fairly easily but that is no longer the case (and maybe one of the reasons J&J has extended to 11).

I'm surprised to hear The Mall is now finishing at age 11. I wonder what is behind that? Destinations from the Mall don't tend to be the "normal" local private secondaries eg Hampton, KGS, Halliford etc.. but KCS Wimbledon, Westminster or big name boarding.

Of course Hampton pre-prep gets you entry to Hampton Boys... try and think about secondary destinations if you can and work backwards.

Many children get into the independent day schools from the local excellent state primaries too (Hampton, LEH, Surbiton, KGS etc.)
