Do I really need to start thinking about schools from when dd is two?

It's what Junior magazine said.
Seems a bit early to me. We're not thinking of going private or anything.

yuh-huh!

that was meant to indicate 'yes'!

thing you wanna do is gossip gossip gossip - and that takes time to cultivate

Oh, we've been gossiping about it since before she was born. We might be moving house and we checked the school in the new area was a good one.

But we don't need to do anything else yet, surely?

You can put their name down on the waiting list, but all that means is that you are sent out a form at the right time, not that you have any priority on a place ahead of a child whose name went down after yours.

I would put their name down if you fancy. I called when ds was just 2 and there were people who had put their dcs down from birth!!!! Not that it makes any difference really.

in that case yoiu're fine. note that inb some schools you have option of 'nursery year' the year after they turn 3 - which is a bit closer obviously.

Thanks.

I suspected it was just Junior magazine being a bit hysterical.
