Does anyone have current views on Milton Abbey? Thinking of it for DS for sixth form but see different and wide opinions on the place. Much appreciated.

I am happy to report that my child went to Milton Abbey and has become confident academically with strong ethics and good manners. Thoroughly loved the school as my child made friends for life with other students and teachers who were very supportive. I am glad I made the choice despite the negative reviews I read on this platform. I decided to visit the school instead and engaged some students directly, including people who lived in the neighbourhood! This gave me the confidence to proceed and indeed my child blossomed in this environment as it nurtured the child’s individual strength and abilities. I will recommend the school to any parent who feel their children require individualistic method of teaching and nurturing to get the best out of any child in an environment that is supportive.

Hi Emma Jane, as someone with autism and an ex student of MA, all I can say is be prepared for your child to be bullied because of it. I have had people say to me "you're so autistic" and even a rumor spread about me saying "he's so autistic I bet he cannot even remember when his own exams are."

Hello, I appreciate that this thread hasn't been posted on for some time. Has there now been an improvement in the school with it's tackling of bullying? I would appreciate hearing from current parents if possible? We are considering sending our boy when he is 13 as he is looking for lots of sports, small class sizes and the opportunity to do GCSEs along side some outside learning.

My child finished his A levels just recently and has come out a confident, well informed and well mannered person. The more senior students display a lot of care and guidance for the younger students. I would recommend Milton Abbey to any parent wishing to take this step.

Have you looked around? Stunning environment but a bit in the middle of nowhere. Are you thinking of full boarding? We chose Kings Bruton as in a great little town with train links. Fantastic school and my son has done very well in his A levels. If you have any questions message me.
