Infant and Junior School dates for Inset don't coincide - what do most schools do?

Does anyone else have children at Infant and Junior schools where the inset days don't coincide?

Thankfully not, as our Infant, Junior and High Schools all work really well together, in fact they're called the Schools Together Partnership. I can imagine it must be really annoying, though.

Yes it is - with children at both the Infant and Junior School there are potentially 10 inset days to cover because they won't coincide and these are schools that share a site and the same name so lots of families have children at both. I fully support teachers having inset days and could cope with 5, but 10 days is half my annual holiday allowance! I'm trying to find out whether this is the norm as the headteacher is telling me it is impossible to coordinate with the infant head to get the same days.
