hi,
i seem to be in a bit of a dilemma here. The state schools in my borough are not vey good so i have been forced to go to the next borough and register my daughter for an independant school. she has a placee at Ilford PREPARATORY SCHOOL in Seven Kings Essex and she is due to start in September. However i have now heard that some parents are noow moving their kings from this school . i spoke to one of them and she said here reason was quite personal and it was based on the way a teacher treated her son.
So what do i do do i still send my ds there or look for another school. Can anybody give me some information about this scholl or Eastcourt School which is nearby. Also is there a website for independant schools. Thanks

Don't know anything about the area but \linkwww.schoolsnet.com/here{}is a good place to start. The list of independent schools is by no means exhaustive.

Otherwise try \linkwww.isis.org.uk/this{}for private schools or ring Gabbitas.

once you have a lsit of potential schools go and visit them all. TBH I think school gate gossip can be misleading. We were disgusted by our state primary which according to local mums is the best in the borough!

Private schools don't have to release their SATs results (or even to do SATs) so they are not on the ofsted site. The school will usually give you the results if you ask (and most advertise their 11+ pass rate). up here the kids sit their 11+ in the Christmas term of Y6 and the private schools set their exams at the same time as the state grammars.
