Best private schools in Essex???

Our son is only a week old, but really want to look at our options (and put his name down!)

We are in Chelmsford.

Any suggestions would be lovely.

Most private schools like their name to be put down within their first birthday...

Congratulations on your new arrival. Newhall in Chelmsford is current winner of Independent School of the year, but that could change by the time your little one is due to start school.

Both the best prep schools in the area. Chelmsford has a grammar school system so a school that finishes at 11 leaves you with options to either go to state, grammar or independent. Newhall is a good school but they will not prepare your child for the 11+ or for alternatives to their senior school as it is not really in their interests to do so. Sensible to look around both and put your name down for one or both.
