Year 2 end of year test

What exactly do the year 2 end of year tests involve ?

What are showing us? Do they decide groups for ks2 etc ?

It's not a bunch of 7 year olds sitting in a hall panic scribble on paper is it

They get a booklet to work through in their classroom. It is quiet, but they do try and be subtle. They do practice papers in the run up. Lots of kids don't really notice they are doing g them. Others get stressed.

There are two reading tests and two maths tests. The grammar spelling and punctuation test has been scrapped for 2017.
