Anyone's DC sit Kingston Grammar 10+ 11+?

Got DD to sit it as a practice, she only managed the Maths one, really struggled with the other two.

We are state and had started some DIY prep for reasoning but were planning on knuckling down for Maths & English after this exam, to get a gauge of how realistic it is. Now realise we have work to do!

We wanted her to sit it as a mock but now dying to know how she did as after being very relaxed about the whole thing initially, when the reality of it dawned on her 9 (in the exam room!) dd decided she really wanted to do well. Confused

I'm not expecting a phone call but thought I'd see if anyone else is in same position!

I know a few people who did 10 plus but the only one I could ask is unlikely to get a place anyway, given the feedback she gave her Mum....- anyone know a super bright genius who would definitely get an interview? If they haven't heard theres still hope! Haven't told DD when the interviews are so she isn't remotely bothered.

10 +. Actually we didn't expect that many children. seems over 400 for 25. :(

Have a 10+ dd (now in third year) and we heard after the 11+ people I seem to recall. You can always call the registrar and ask if you are unsure, they are really friendly Smile

Anyone about the 10+ yet? A boy at school has heard he didn't make it, but not sure whether his parents rang or he received a letter. The post has just been, but nothing from the school!

Sorry to hear that, but thank you for letting us know, hope your DC isn't too disappointed.

Maybe they're making their way down the alphabet in terms of surname...

DS had a general interview, no idea if he'll get in as some of his answers were interesting. Nail biting wait now..

We were told that a general interview meant you'd done pretty well on all the papers and it was practically a formality that you'd get an offer. Not sure if that still holds true though.

My DC had an English interview, was put on the reserve list and did get through after a nail biting few weeks. Feel for you all as it is very stressful!

My DS had a general interview at KGS last Saturday. He was asked 3 maths questions at the beginning of the interview of which he got the first 2 right and the teacher told him that the 3rd was tricky and he wouldn't have expected him to do it without some help. DS was then asked hobbies, favourite subjects etc. DS, my husband and I all have our hearts set on him getting into KGS as we think it would be the perfect school for him in many ways. Does anyone know what our chance of getting an offer is after interview? We are just waiting now....

Thanks for the reassurance Sizzledsticks, I do hope this is the case, but yes some sleepless nights!

Space2Be, that is interesting, my DS was not asked to cover subject specific questions, just hobbies, activities, how he likes to spend his time etc. Any idea when the offer letters are posted?

Mine was given a maths interview a few years ago and waitlisted. In both Y7 and Y8 she is one of the top performers in her cohort (at a different selective school), so she must REALLY have messed up the KGS 11+ exam and interview!
I think general interviewees are generally accepted and other subject interviewees waitlisted, unless they change the teachers' minds at interview with their brilliance! That said, they always have more children attend interview than places available, so there are no guarantees.
Good luck to everyone waiting to hear the results.
