Frensham Heights or Bedales?

We are interested in somewhere that offers 3-18 education and the ethos of these suit our philosophy of education so I'm looking for any insights or experiences anyone has of the two schools. Thanks.

We looked at both of these recently and preferred Frensham. Got impression that Bedales felt it didn't really need to "sell" itself, tour a bit chaotic etc. Frensham just felt better, interview with the Head really lovely, great facilities for subjects we were interested in.

I'm guessing you are just starting out as you mention age 3-18. Don't discount the fact that kids often get quite institutionalised when in a through school - about half of the year leaves Frensham to go elsewhere at sixth form because they just need somewhere new.

Thank you. Yes starting out - I hadn't really thought about wanting to move just for something new but it makes good sense! Have you considered any others?

Well, looking for sixth form so our needs are somewhat different! My advice would be always keep an open mind as the right school at 3 might not necessarily be the right one at 7, or 11, or 16. You really have no idea where their talents lie, what their personality is, how they interact with others etc when you start out at school!

I totally agree. We like the option of staying through until 18 though so want to start off in a 3-18. They both have similar qualities which makes it trickier!
