Any experience of GHS waiting list?

My daughter is currently doing / just done the assessments for reception. She is on the waiting list for a GHS place and I was wondering what the chances are of her getting a place? She has been offered a place at St. Catherine's Bramley and has the assessment this weekend at Tormead and I would ideally like to know all our options before making a final decision. Any information is much appreciated.

Do you know where she is on the list?

I would say depends where she is on the list as would say maybe max 5 families would say no to ghs that have been given places

May be worth speaking to ghs today as given that it's the st cats deadline they may have already heard from parents that turned down ghs and give you idea if chance of her being high up list to get a place if that's what you want or even to help make your decision.

I've got children at GHS and one is fairly young so it's not that long ago since we went through the process. I know that a few girls in my daughter's class got in from the waiting list - and that's just the ones who have said they did. They may be the only ones or there may be others. It's really hard to tell as it depends which schools the parents applied to. A good percentage will be choosing between the various Guildford schools but increasingly some people apply to London schools too then decide about moving down. You'll also probably have some people who are applying for older siblings who won't get the results until mid-late January or for state school places who won't know til Easter.
