I'm a UPS 3 teacher and am considering applying for a job outside of teaching but it's a community education post in the private sector. It would half my wage but it's 2 days a week and I am currently full time.
I don't necessarily want the job but I could do with a change. If I apply I'm worried about the impact it might have on my professionally. My school is very cut-throat, ambitious and this means staff morale is rarely acceptable. So I'm tempted to apply to register my discontent with the school but do you think this is unwise and they could begin to treat me very differently or even try to make me redundant?
