Can anyone recommend co-ed state 6th forms in central London.
So far we have a list of 2:
St Marylebone
Holland park High
Does anyone know more about these 2 schools or have any more suggestions?
TIA

Camden School for Girls (it is co-ed in sixth form).

Also if your DC is reasonably bright/ and or is has a special strength interest, do also consider independent schools. Financial assistance often available, means tested.

Define central London -zone 1? Zone 2?

There aren't that many secondary schools actually in the centre of London, so your options will depend on how far out you're prepared to consider, and in which direction.

404, I'm not sure this is correct. In SW1W/V alone you have Harris Westminster, Greycoats and Pimlico. And just over the river is Kings Maths School. All of which attract pupils from a fair distance.

There was a similar thread about a month or so ago, possibly in Secondary Education which may explain the lack of response on this.

I didn't say there were none, I said the number of options in zone 1 is restricted compared with the options available if you're prepared to look a bit further out.

And given that most people do look further afield for sixth form, it makes sense to define the area you're looking in, and how far you're prepared to travel.

Thanks for your replies. I will look at all the schools suggested. We live in zone 1 (Notting Hill) so anywhere in zone 1 would be great or zone 2 preferably west.

Camden and Grey Coats Hospital look good, although I am concerned that we are looking at so many girls schools that take boys in the sixth form only. Does anyone know what the boy/girl ratio is?

For Camden it's about 2/3 girls, 1/3 boys.

Most places are allocated based on distance, though, and I doubt your dc would get a place if you live in Notting Hill.

St Charles Sixth form college? It's Catholic, but they take all faiths and none. If a teenager is going to move at that stage, there's a lot to be said for a sixth form where everybody is new, rather than having to break into established friendship groups.

Thanks 404 you are right a sixth form where everyone is new would be ideal. I will look at this one too.
