How utterly tedious is that thing called TES Personal...

I check in there from time to time and cannot believe how dull it has become. It seems the only posters left are mainly dullards and all they do is say nice things to one another. The new regime got rid of all the sparky posters who occasionally took pleasure in being controversial.

Isn't therapy great!?!

You cannot even say IDIOT!!

They have a mahoosive swear filter - Lollol - which forbids one even writing the word TOSS.

I loved TES back in the day...I wouldn't bother with it now! A mere shadow of its former self.

I had some brilliant advice regarding my interview and first years of teaching. It was the twitter of the 00s.

I used to love it there when I was an enthusiastic NQT! Was a really useful place. I left when they changed the look and it became clunky to use.

Wadingthroughsoup · 03/09/2016 17:02

I was a regular on TES for many years too. Loved HarshbutFair who later became The Guvnor, I think.

I have a feeling Serendipity posts here, though I may be thinking of someone else.

Sleeper, I was in the pregnancy bit too and now wondering who you're talking about. (Hopefully not me 😬)

Re posters who died, there was a very popular poster called Elaine who died of bowel cancer, I think. I still remember her marvellous catchphrase: 'Keep buggering on'. She was a very cool lady.

There were some mad trolls on there too though.

DelicatePreciousThing1 · 03/09/2016 22:14

Serendipity? Really? I was never much good at recognising someone's style but surely her bossy, holier than thou style would be easy to spot. Lol

Harsh but fair is pre-moderated under the New Regime.

I haven't been on there in ages.I remember all the posters you have been naming.

Wadingthroughsoup · 03/09/2016 22:47

You're right delicate- I've just been back for a quick look around, and I don't think it was Seren.

I've just remembered a fantastically wise and very dry, sardonic female poster. Very well-respected and on there for donkeys' years. Anyone remember who I'm talking about?

DelicatePreciousThing1 · 04/09/2016 00:02

Lilyofthefield? She was a pretty unpleasant person. Or was it Nutella? Can you believe they banned her? She was great.

Celticqueen? Anyone remember her? She lied about everything even getting married!!
Mad as a box of frogs.

Aibu? is waaaaay livelier than TES.

I can't believe HBF is getting pre-moderated - all he ever says is "hmmm" and "Welcome to TES"!

noblegiraffe · 04/09/2016 10:49

I remember Celticqueen getting a mute kid to talk by making him a sandwich on her first day in some new job. Don't remember her getting married (or not) though.

People here say AIBU is tough, it's nothing compared to Opinion.

Thanks for reminding me of the good ol days DelicatePreciousThing1!! I left shortly after they 're-vamped' fucked up the site and it was bloody hard to navigate around. They should have left it how it was! Now it's like a ghost town. Lots of tumbleweed.

Tumbleweed is way more interesting.
