So SATS. How did they do?

Apologies if there's been another thread on this but I couldn't see one.

My Y6 dd had her SATS results home yesterday with school report. I was pleasantly surprised with her marks. I don't do FB school report posting but it's been unusually quiet on my FB wall!

Did a lot of them do better or worse than we feared?

I feel like a line has been drawn under primary now and we're so ready to move on.

We were promised results last week but they never came - I think they were probably even worse than the rest of the nation's and the school is appealing the results!
Poor teachers, they worked so hard.

We haven't had ours yet and it's all been very quiet. We don't even know when the reports are coming home. Probably they'll be thrust at them as they leave on the last day.

There were oblique references to it in the Leavers' Assembly!

We haven't had them either. The school seems a bit panicked by their results.
I've drummed into ds that his score won't be a reflection on him and I'm not bothered what his mark is.

Not had ours yet, out next Monday with the reports...

It seems like I've been lucky having them this week then.

We get ours at the last day of term, I am glad about this as I don't want the inevitable post mortem.

Areyou, I never ask anyone in RL about results so I thought I'd ask here. Seems our area is unusual in getting them out though.

This report gives the national picture on SATS and tells you that only 53% of children reached the new 'standard'. The average scaled score is 103 in Maths, 104 in SpAG and 103 in Reading. Remember that the tests are not about the children. The tests were only developed as a method of judging teachers (in very crass ways) so the schools can be ranked in a league table. This was supposedly to give parents 'choice' about their school, although currently you're blooming lucky to get a place in any school somewhere near to your home, so the idea of 'choice' is a bit ridiculous. Our Y6er is leaving a school which has previously not done very well compared to the national average, but this year they have really got amazing results given the curveballs they've been thrown. All credit to the teachers, who have helped our kids recognise the results don't matter for them.

Thanks for that Lego. Interesting reading. Well done to your school. I have no idea about ours as a whole. I'm guessing not amazing or they would be crowing about it.
