I won my secondary school appeal for my son:))

I am so thrilled I won my sons appeal for year 7 admission, got the letter this afternoon so thrilled and my son cryed when he found out, for all going through this do not give up push through the pain and stress for your child and his/her future!

Oh my goodness! Well done. Currently going through it for DD in Gloucstershire. Can I ask where you are and how long it took for you to get your decision from the school

Thank you very much it's been an extremely stressful few months but I finally can breathe and feel like my hard work has paid off

I found out today that we've also been successful with our DD's appeal. I am weeping and laughing at regular intervals. Progressing to drinking too much wine and eating too much pizza. Thank heavens it's over!!! Good luck to all those still waiting on decisions.

Fantastic news! It's a euphoric feeling isint it honestly the stress is all worth it once you read that letter well done once again

Got to remember though its something between 5-10% of secondary appeals are successful depending on area of the country.

Summer18, very, a huge mix of emotions and a massive sense of relief!
We count ourselves very, very lucky. It was a huge amount of hardwork and research which certainly dominated my life for many months.
I'm glad it's over!

It certainly does dominate your life every other thought and your worries until you get an outcome I'm just so thankful and blessed I got the positive outcome I so desperately wanted - my son went along for a transition evening tonight and watched a film/ popcorn etc with all the new year 7's he thoroughly enjoyed it and also made some new friends, I honestly felt like I was going to cry with joy when I picked him up to see him so so happy filled me to bursting point with happiness however i contained myself lol I didn't want him to see me tear up its just a fantastic amazing feeling I can only imagine this is what a lottery win feels like :)

I'm sure I'm going to have to do this next year but I don't have a clue where I would start!

Honestly don't believe what people say go in there and be honest I appealed on the grounds of social need ethos of school I wanted distance my sons manner etc he is not a streetwise child the school offered was 2 long buses journeys one way and then back! He knew no one there it wasn't suitable I put my argument across I was genuine polite etc and I think that's what swung it what I would say is get evidence of you have it together I went through loads of bits wrote a detailed statement etc i am super proud of myself cause I really fought for him ... And won :)
