Does anyone have any views on quality of teaching, energy and motivation in the culture and bringing the best out of girls as well as stretching and challenging them?

We're new to the school and have just had our first parents evening. I'd say the teaching is good, with some examples of outstanding. They are teaching the girls how to structure essays and assessments in a very detailed way with an emphasis on the girls developing their own opinions. When it comes to marking there are clear instructions on how to improve. The teachers all seem engaged, and it is a happy school with a calm atmosphere.

They stress effort as the route to achievement. So there is a lot of talk about effort, an emphasis on correcting their own work following teacher feedback.

We're 1 1/2 terms in so it's early days. I don't think they 'push' girls, but rather have a culture of encouraging the girls to do their best.

My DD has never been happier.

St C has a many different races and nationalities. it definitely is not all "white british". i wouldn't be worried.

What's St C like for girls with dyslexia? Are there any girls who have a lower/impaired academic ability there, or do they not make it through the exam? Does anyone know what the competition is like for places?
