DH and I have been looking at secondary schools for our twins DD/DS and have recently discovered dunottar now take boys - we've had our heads in the sand for far too long but are looking for entry 2018.

How has the transition gone from girls only to taking on boys now - any personal experiences from your own DS would be very welcome too.

We will be going to the next open morning but just wanted to gauge feedback on here first.

Try looking on the Department of Education website, they tend to give girl/boy ratios alongside lots of other info. Private schools seem to provide less info than state - but it's always worth a look.

Have you asked them ? Last year at 11+ I'm not sure any boys joined but there has certainly been an intake at 13+ and 6th form in both 2014 and 2015. I don't think it is near 50:50 in those year groups yet but given the intake is small it wouldn't take much for it to become so by 2018.

I've been looking at Dunottar for my son for 2016 entry - in fact we've applied to sit the exam with this achool being 1 of 3 we are applying to. I do quite like dunottar and believe the boy intake is on the up.
