Hellu mums - Can I please get some feedback on private schools in Wokingham Area? My son is 4.5 years old and we are planning to move to Wokingham this/next year. We are basically looking for a school with good overall develeopment focus, some emphasis on Arts (dance/Music) if possible as my son loves these two activities. I am visiting Waverley and Bearwood next week but have read worrying reviews about them :(

Also some more names suggested are:
St Josephs/Crossfields/Lambrook/Holm Grange/Eagle House/Heathermount.

I am very confused and not sure where to start. Your advice will be greatly appreciated!!!

Many thanks :)

I have heard lovely things about Waverley and also parents pleased with Holme Grange. Bearwood I would tread a little carefully with as it hasn't had a particularly great reputation in the recent past. I don't know anything about Heathermount. Lambrook and Eagle house are perhaps seen as the more academic choices on your list? But I don't know them well enough to comment more.

However, I really feel it is important to go with your gut instinct when you visit a school to see which one you think would suit your child best so I would visit all the ones you suggested.

Bearwood has been taken over by a South African educational company, I have heard, so it's presumably all change there...
Lambrook is an excellent, non-selective prep and tends to beat five of the latter six schools you mention at sports. More relevantly for your requirements, Lambrook has recently produced some v.talented musicians and singers, including several senior school scholarship recipients.
