Hey... Need some input please!!!
We're planning on moving to Lsibon (2016), probably Cascais/Estoril.
Would really appreciate any information anyone can provide on the state run schools there. Portuguese or bilingual. Have found tons of info on private schools but would like to also explore the public schooling as well, as the kids would get to learn the language. (DS 9 & 4)
I've read the general information on the schooling system (Cycle 1, 2 etc) .
Am curious whether the school has to be approached directly in the area that one lives, do they have a catchment system etc....
Kids will be getting tutored in portuguese before we go for several months so that they won't feel totally lost when we get there.

Thanks in advance.

Don't know presisely as it's a long time since DH was at school but he comes from close to Cascais. A good place to start may be the Loja de Cidadao (Citizen Shop) as they should be able to point you in the right direction. I reckon the Fresgusia (district) will deal with applications and will be able to find out which schools have suitable places. There may be a few bilingual/international schools around Cascais as that's where quite a few of the football players live. Good luck, we may be doing the same in years to come as DH may have to return home at some point Smile.
