BTEC plus A-level

My son has just started a full time BTEC higher diploma in Music Technology. He received his timetable today and has discovered that he has two full days off college every week. He has asked me whether he could do A-level maths during that time (he really likes Maths and got an A* at GCSE)
So, has anyone any experience of dc doing BTEC with an A-level on the side? Can it be done, does anyone know? And if so, am I going to have to pay for it (if he's used his FE funding at college)?

Thanks

Yes it is possible if it fits with his tme table.

It can be funded.

He doesn't have 'days off' they are days for completing coursework.

He needs to talk to the college.

DD is starting a '3 A level equivalent' BTEC plus Spanish AS.

But that is what she applied to do at a college that does both BTECs and A levels, and it has been timetabled accordingly.

It is normal to do something else alongside Btec, either maths/english gcse retakes, independent project or A level

The Maths A level I would highly encourage. Many employers would value this very much (over music BTECH sorry to have to say).

THe college should be able to let him do it through them at another college if they do not offer it - they will get funded
