I'm currently living in Birmingham with my daughter aged 4 in a council flat which is very run down and I have been trying to find a job but no hope, I have nothing to loose. I also hate the hustle and bustle and fast paced lifestyle.
I was on holiday in Torquay with my mom and we kept saying ' this is where I want to live, So slow paced!' My mom then met up with a friend who lives in Paignton who said they'd help us and put me and my daughter up and offered me a job! How amazing and how lucky! I just wondered what people think of me giving up my council home in Birmingham to soon Private rent in Paignton once I've started work, How are the schools? Would my daughter get a place in a primary school within a year? I'm so scared of the move but so excited, I need a fresh start and I love the peaceful quiet lifestyle and I do love the hilly walks I'm very active, I just need advice as I'm only 23 and a single mom and wondered if people think I'm making a good jump? I would like advice from people in Paignton/Torquay

No advice but do you really want thousands of people to have your daughters photo and school she goes to ?

Yes - I second that; most people want to keep their children OFF any social media.

I was a teaching assistant for ten years, at Foxhole Infants in Paignton, now known as Kings Ash Academy I think.

There is an area of council houses, and some parts that are best avoided.

Oldway School and the surrounding area is probably better, but it is a very large primary school, and I dare say, it will be oversubscribed.

Do you know what area you are likely to be in? Preston seafront is nice. Torbay is three towns - Torquay, Paignton and Brixham - and is (I think) a 'Unitary Authority'.

Here is a list of all the Torbay schools:
