We are looking at the above for our DC to attend as a full boarder. We would not have a problem getting in as DC falls into the priority category for boarding. We looked at the school and really liked it, but are concerned about the academics. DC is doing well at the current state primary, but I would not say DC is overly academic and often needs a nudge when it comes to homework/instrument practice, although DC likes languages and plays an instrument. I am concerned that DC's confidence could be knocked at Hockerill if everyone else is highly academic and ends up in the "lower" sets. DC is sporty and would give any sports a go, not too sure how "sporty" Hockerill is. Also any views on the (full) boarding there would be greatly appreciated.
