Top Independent Schools in KENT

For quite some time, I have been searching for top independent schools (one of the best in UK, appearing in top 20/30/40?) in and around KENT area (covering Bromley, Chislehurst, Orpington, Shortlands, Beckenham, Catford, Sydenham, blackheath etc). All I am getting are outstanding grammar schools and as always, the top schools appear to be GIRLS only!!

Please can someone suggest me some outstanding independent schools in this area. I am looking for those where age range is from 3-18 or 4-18 for my 1.5 years old Son. I am planning to finish off the admission forms for his admission in September 2017 (After age 3).

Any pointers will be appreciated.

Sevenoaks is a fabulous school- where on earth have you got the idea that it's not focused on academics? And as for how old it is, well St Paul's Girls is only about 15 years older and that doesn't appear to do too badly ...

I agree with pp that your shortlist is very odd. Alleyn's is great - and v hard to get into as it is not only co-ed but also much smaller than somewhere like Dulwich. St dunstan's and Royal Russell are nowhere near as selective

Definitely look at Whitgift, Trinity, Eltham, Dulwich etc but until you know your child's strengths and interests you can't possibly choose a school for them which will suit them until 18

My eldest has just finished Yr7 at a 13+ prep and he is ready for a fresh start. I really don't think an all through school would have suited him and there is no way I could have predicted that at 3. Additionally, the type of school I thought would suit him when he was younger isn't the school that will suit him now. I think the prep then choice of senior option is better than an 4-18 school in general because DC change so much.

Beginning to think OP isn't returning despite all our help! Perhaps secretly she is working for Sevenoaks and just criticising it so we will all praise it Grin

Have look at Ashford School 0-18y fantastic nursery, pre-prep, prep and senior. Great places to live in and around Ashford with easy access to Canary Wharf and London in 35min.

I would highly recommend St Christopher's in Canterbury if you're still looking?

As this thread is nearly three years old I suspect theOP has found somewhere.
