national gifted and talented thing

I have not got the form to hand but my dd4 has been invited to join and I would like to know if any other mums have children in this and if it it worth it?
Also does it cost to join I have read the letter and form but can not see any thing about fees.

Doesn't cost to join - some workshops are free - DD went on one in London recently and said it was brilliant, others do charge. I understand there is also a summer school which is charged for. There are loads of online resources and educational groups they can join - look here for information - www.nagty.ac.uk - if your daughter meets the criteria to join she will benefit greatly from it imo.

Im not sure if its the same thing but my 14 year old is in this or something similar, he loves it and has been on quite a few trips

DSs go to "Saturday Club" it's actually called "Roisin's locality area Saturday Club for Gifted and Talented Children" ... Puke!

Apart from the name it is a fantastic opportunity for them, and they love it. But I refuse to call it by its name.
